WADT helps bring hope and new beginnings to victims of domestic violence and their children. Through shelters, victim outreach, advocacy and shelter over-flow program, we work tirelessly to help victims break the cycle of abuse AND POVERTY

WADT focuses on the economic wherewithal of victims of domestic violence and their children while recognizing the scars of abuse through counseling.

Services include:

  • 24-hour crisis hotline for our clients
  • Safe housing, meals and basic needs
  • Case management
  • Childcare
  • Counseling and educational classes

 

Outreach Services focus on personal advocacy and community education regarding domestic violence and empowerment. Issues addressed include co-dependency, children and abuse, safety planning, DV laws, communication, grief, anger and stress management, boundaries and self-esteem, love and intimacy, assertiveness/aggressiveness and healthy relationships.

Our services are made available free of charge at Major Atlanta Metro and surrounding Counties Help lines in the State of Georgia and Shelter referrals throughout the South East.

 

DV STOP provides short-term emergency shelter and services to victims of domestic violence and their children while they await the availability of beds in domestic violence shelters countywide.

DV STOP offers:

  • Crisis intervention and case management
  • Basic needs assistance

Domestic Violence Court Advocates

A WADT DV court advocates provide anyone who is a victim of domestic violence or sexual assault with assistance regarding:

  • Legal proceedings including protective orders
  • Court accompaniment
  • Resources and referrals

Family Advocacy Center Counseling

The Family Advocacy Centers provide a wide range of services including police, legal and medical support to victims of abuse. These Centers are run by the Cities with counselors from WADT who provide crisis counseling services. Our Team of Volunteer Counselors provide short-term behavioral health services to victims of sexual assault, sexual abuse and domestic violence. Services include:

  • Crisis stabilization
  • Counseling services
  • Community resources and referrals
